How is shredded coconut made?

Shredded coconut is made from the white part of the flesh of mature coconut kernels.

The kernel is dried in warm air and then shredded to create flakes, chips or shreds.

Directions:

Shredded coconut is such a versatile ingredient and is wonderful for adding texture and flavour to your meals. Bake into sweet recipes such as cakes, muffins and slices or add to savoury dishes such as curries or savoury muffins. Roll your bliss balls and lamingtons in it. Add texture to granola, salads, and fruit salads, or eat by themselves as a Simple snack.
